Organizational Structure The Rashi Foundation is incorporated abroad and is established and financed by a philanthropic family and other individuals deeply committed to the State of Israel. In Israel, the Foundation is represented by a charitable entity (“amuta” in Hebrew) that executes the Foundation’s mission. Members of the Amuta include family representatives and an Advisory Board of prominent Israeli leaders from industry and the academia.
During the past two decades, Rashi has evolved from a purely funding organization that grants financial support to operating bodies in the field, to an active social entrepreneur that initiates and develops concrete solutions to widespread social needs. More recently, the Foundation has become an operator of programs through subsidiary associations. These subsidiaries act as Rashi’s operating arms in different areas, and have enabled the Foundation to increase greatly the scope of our work and to make it more effective, far-reaching, transparent and measurable.
