[27 June 12] The Ministry of Welfare has announced recently that the program providing meals for children at risk during the summer vacation, which began last year as a pilot with 1,500 children, will be expanded to 2,500 participants in 70 localities. The program will operate during August, when all the frameworks that extend the school day are closed. The activity will take place in after-school centers and will allow the children to enjoy food security along with enrichment and summer fun.
The program will be implemented again by Rashi's operating arm, the Association for Change in Education, and will be funded jointly by the Ministry of Welfare and Rashi and its partners.
