Yahdav Children's Home, Dimona

The Children's Home is intended for children who were removed from their family – sometimes by court order – due to neglect or abuse, and require a long-term framework that would answer their material and emotional needs. These children often suffer from behavior disorders, learning and speech impairments, wetting and other problems associated with being witnesses or victims of physical, verbal or mental abuse. The need affection, enrichment and support in closing developmental, educational and social gaps.

12 children aged 8-14 live in the home, where they experience normative family-style life as part of the community. A personalized program is prepared for each child by a multi-disciplinary team, emphasizing their empowerment and full realization of their talents and abilities. All the children benefit from educational reinforcement, enrichment clubs, summer camps, trips and fun days. Since it is usually unsafe for them to stay with their family, they live in the home year-round, including weekends and holidays, or spend a vacation with another host family in the community. At the same time, every effort is made to restore and cultivate the connection with the biological family in the hope that they could some day be reunited.
