Northern Goals brochure
The Northern Goals Association founded by the Rashi Foundation in 2004 to be its operating arm in the north, works to promote and improves social services for children and their families living in the northern region, including at-risk and special-needs populations. The Association manages Rashi's nationwide projects in northern localities and also initiates and develops solutions for the region’s unique needs, focusing mainly on children, youth and young adults.
Northern Goals works closely with the local authorities to map needs and seek solutions in the areas affecting children and youth, with an emphasis on youth at risk, and to design and launch programs to answer those needs – always taking a system-wide view and advancing cooperation among the various municipal departments (education, welfare, health, youth, etc.).
Following the Second Lebanon War, Rashi has greatly intensified its activity in the northern region with the aim of reducing learning gaps and strengthening excellence in education, increasing provision of and accessibility to welfare solutions, and empowering the local authorities to provide quality services for children, youth and families in distress. The Northern Goals Association handles a major part of this activity – early childhood programs, youth programs, after-school centers, warm homes for girls and more – while also operating a range of other interventions in selected local and regional authorities.
