Honorary doctors

[31 May 12] Bar-Ilan University awarded honorary doctorates to the philanthropic partners who helped to establish the Faculty of Medicine in Tzfat.


Hubert Leven, President of the Rashi Foundation (right), was honored together with Marc Gold (Jewish Federations of Canada), Mick Davis (UJIA Britain) and Angelica Berrie (Russ Berrie Foundation) in a ceremony that took place as part of the annual meeting of the university's Board of Trustees last week.


The four partners, who are long-term players in promoting the development of the Galilee, joined forces to advance the medical school's contribution to the region. The next stage of the joint initiative is to create the infrastructure for a science education center in for youth, which will operate out of the current premises of the Faculty of Medicine when it moves into its permanent campus in a few years.
