In recent years, a growing number of qualified professionals from North America and Europe have decided to make Aliyah and develop their career in Israel. Gvahim (Hebrew for "heights") was launched in 2006 through a joint effort of the Ami Association, the Association of French Alumni in Israel, the Rashi Foundation and a group of Israeli business leaders, with the mission of helping highly-skilled new immigrants fulfill their professional aspirations in Israel and providing them with a strong social anchor for successful Aliyah..
The flagship Career Development Program provide the Olim with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the Israeli job market. The program includes workshops on relevant topics, such as job search, contract negotiations, presentation and networking, etc. Participants also benefit from individual HR consultation and mentoring with Israeli professionals, as well as active placement assistance by the Gvahim team.
Gvahim’s professional networks serve as a platform where Israeli professionals link up with highly qualified olim, thereby opening new career opportunities for their members. The different networks – finance and consulting, marketing and communication, technology and industry and the nonprofit and public sector network – provide online assistance to 6,000 members.
Entrepreneurs wishing to develop a start-up in Israel can join The Hive – a 6-month accelerator program that includes workshops with successful entrepreneurs, experts and investors, mentoring, access to professional consultants, networking events and more.
The Young Leaders program offers internships in Israel for university students and graduates from around the world; those who decide to make Aliyah following the internship are invited to join Gvahim’s Career Development Program and its professional networks.
Gvahim in figures
